Position: Research Fellow, Doctoral Tutor in Computer Network Information Center Chinese Academy of Sciences 

Work Experience: Dr. WANG Wei is the Research Fellow and Doctoral Tutor in Computer Network Information Center, Chinese Academy of Sciences, focusing on network identifier research and eScience application in CAS. He is also the general partner in Knet VC, a private equity firm focused on internet innovation investing. Before that, He served as Chief Engineer in Knet Technologies, the largest IDN New gTLD registry of “.网址/xn--ses554g”.

WANG Wei started his career inChina Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC)from 2004 to 2014, the ccTLD registry of .CN. He used to be the deputy director of CNNIC, in charge of technical department, research lab and international cooperation department, successfully restructured .CN resolution platform, initiated domain anti-abuse research, and expanded new New gTLD business.

WANG Wei is an active member in ICANN community, helped deploy mirror servers of I root, F root, L root, .KR and .DE in China. He is currently serving as Board Director of PTI/IANA, Co-Chair of Chinese Generation Panel (CGP) in Root Zone LGR Project, as well as the member of RSSAC Caucus. In Asia, he serves as General Secretary of CDNC (Chinese Domain Name Consortium).
